G20 Summit 2023: Highlights
- Spoke
at Session 1 of the G20 Summit on the subject of One Earth. Highlighted the
need to further human-centric development, which is also something Indian
culture has always emphasised. It is with a spirit of One Earth that India
has worked on initiatives such as the LiFE Mission, emphasised on International
Year of Millets, launched Green Grids Initiative - One Sun, One World, One
Grid, harnessed solar power, encouraged natural farming and the National Green
Hydrogen Mission.
- Coming
together to achieve a resilient tomorrow for our One Earth, One Family, One
Future! The G20 Heads of Delegations participated in a symbolic Tree Plantation
ceremony at the Bharat Mandapam.
- It
was a pleasure to host the Heads of delegations of G20 nations, Guest countries, and International Organisations at the magnificent Bharat Mandapam for the G20
Summit Gala Dinner.
- In
Udaipur, G20 delegates got a chance to meet the man who can tie a turban in 108
different styles Pawan Vyas, turban binder holds the record for tying the
world’s longest turban of 478.5 metre (1569 feet) in 30 minutes without using a
single hairpin or glue in 2020 India brings joy and happiness on their faces!

is elated to welcome AfricanUnion as a permanent member of the G20. Together,
let us foster global unity and progress. Let us also do whatever we can for the
development of the Global South. African Union formally
joins the G20 group. The AU is an intergovernmental organisation, which
comprises the 55 member countries of the African Continent. It was officially
launched in 2002
- New
Delhi Leaders’ Declaration has been adopted at the G20 Summit 2023. G20 leaders
have given 100% consensus on all 83 parts of the Declaration. New Delhi Leaders'
Declaration focuses on Strong, Sustainable, Balanced, and Inclusive Growth,
Accelerating Progress on SDGs, GreenDevelopment Pact for a Sustainable Future,
Multilateral Institutions for the 21st Century, and Reinvigorating
Multilateralism.
- India
has announced the launch of a Global Biofuel Alliance at the G20 Summit in New
Delhi. PM Modi has invited all of the countries to join the global biofuel alliance.
- India,
USA, and Brazil will work together with interested countries for the development
of a Global Biofuel Alliance.
- PM
Modi also proposed to launch the G20 Satellite Mission for Environment and
Climate Observation and invited all countries to join it.
- PM
Modi said that the climate and weather data obtained from India’s Chandrayaan
Mission will be shared with all countries, particularly the countries of the
Global South.

Modi also urged leaders to start working on the “Green Credit Initiative”.
- India
and US and several major economies announced an ambitious India-Middle
East-Europe Economic Corridor.
- Indian
Cultural heritage sites displayed at Bharat Mandapam- Sun Temple at Konark and
Nalanda Mahavihara.
- Speaking to reporters, Sunak said his visit to New Delhi for the G20 Leaders' Summit is "obviously special" as he joked about being referred to as the "son-in-law of India" as the first British Prime Minister of Indian heritage and married to an Indian in Akshata Murty.
- PM Modi handed over the gavel to the President of Brazil as the next holder of the G20 Presidency.
- At the iconic Rajghat, the G20 family paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi - the beacon of peace, service, compassion, and non-violence. As diverse nations converge, Gandhi Ji’s timeless ideals guide our collective vision for a harmonious, inclusive, and prosperous global future.
